Two nicely dressed ladies happen to start up a conversation during an endless wait in the LAX airport. The first lady was an arrogant California woman married to a wealthy man. The second was a well mannered elderly woman from the South. When the conversation centered on whether they had any children the California woman started by saying, “When my first child was born, my husband built a beautiful mansion for me.” The lady from the South commented, “Well, isn’t that precious?” The first woman continued, “When my second child was born, my husband bought me a beautiful Mercedes-Benz.” Again, the lady from the South commented, “Well, isn’t that precious?” The first woman continued boasting, “Then, when my third child was born, my husband bought me this exquisite diamond bracelet.” And again, the Southern lady commented, “Well, isn’t that precious?” The first woman then asked the Southern lady, “What did your husband buy for you when you had your first child?” “My husband sent me to charm school,” declared the Southern lady. “Oh my God! What on earth for?”, asked the first woman. The Southern lady responded, “Well for example, instead of saying “Who gives a sh*t?” I learned to say, “Well, isn’t that precious?”
- “Vermont Senator James Jeffords is being called a hero today after he chased down a teenager who stole a wallet from his daughter-in-law on Capitol Hill. How fat are our kids getting when they’re being run down by 68-year-old senators. … At one point Jeffords yelled out ‘Stop thief’ and two hundred congressmen froze.” – Jay Leno “Some scholars have argued [that] the Constitution clearly states only Congress can declare war, and they are not allowed to simply delegate that authority to the president. However, you can get around that with the legal technique of taking the word ‘constitution’ and adding the word ‘shmonstitution’ to the end of it.” – Jon Stewart “Earlier this week the Senate voted 97-to-0 for tougher regulations. For example, when corporations buy a senator, they must now get a receipt.” – Jay Leno
- Birds of a feather flock together and crap on your car. When I’m feeling down, I like to whistle. It makes the neighbor’s dog run to the end of his chain and gag himself. If you can’t be kind, at least have the decency to be vague. Don’t assume malice for what stupidity can explain. A penny saved is a government oversight. The real art of conversation is not only to say the right thing at the right time, but also to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment. The older you get, the tougher it is to lose weight, because by then your body and your fat have gotten to be really good friends. The easiest way to find something lost around the house is to buy a replacement. He who hesitates is probably right. Did you ever notice: The Roman Numerals for forty (40) are ” XL.” If you think there is good in everybody, you haven’t met everybody. If you can smile when things go wrong, you have someone in mind to blame. The sole purpose of a child’s middle name is so he can tell when he’s really in trouble. There’s always a lot to be thankful for if you take time to look for it. For example I am sitting here thinking how nice it is that wrinkles don’t hurt. Did you ever notice: When you put the 2 words “The” and “IRS” together it spells “Theirs.”
- Sherlock Holmes and Watson are out camping – don’t ask me why, probably on the track of some Barkervillian Hounds, or somesuch. In the middle of the night Sherlock rouses Watson and asks, “Watson, what can you deduce from the stars above us this evening?” Watson replies, “Well, I can deduce a number of things. For example, from their clarity I can deduce that the morn will be clear and sunny. From the position of the constellations I can deduce that it is currently early June. Finally, I can deduce that it is approximately 4:30 in the morning. Why do you ask?” Sherlock bites off: “Because I simply deduce that someone has stolen our tent!”
- Two rednecks decided that they weren’t going anywhere in life and thought they should go to college to get ahead. The first went in to see the counselor, who told him to take math, history, and logic. “What’s logic?” the first redneck asked. The professor answered, “Let me give you an example. Do you own a weed eater?” “I sure do.” “Then I can assume, using logic, that you have a yard,” replied the professor. “That’s real good!” said the redneck. The professor continued, “Logic will also tell me that since you have a yard, you also own a house.” Impressed, the redneck said, “Amazing!” “And since you own a house, logic dictates that you have a wife.” “That’s Betty Mae! This is incredible!” The redneck was catching on. “Finally, since you have a wife, logically I can assume that you are heterosexual,” said the professor. “You’re absolutely right! Why that’s the most fascinatin’ thing I ever heard! I cain’t wait to take that logic class!” The redneck, proud of the new world opening up to him, walked back into the hallway where his friend was still waiting. “So what classes are ya takin’?” asked the friend. “Math, history, and logic!” replied the first redneck. “What in tarnation is logic?” asked his friend. “Let me give you an example. Do ya own a weed eater?” asked the first redneck. “No,” his friend replied. “You’re queer, ain’t ya?”
- 1. You must first learn to pronounce the city name, it is L. A. 2. The morning rush hour is from 5:00 a.m. to noon. The evening rush hour is from noon to 7:00 p.m. Friday’s rush hour starts on Thursday morning. 3. The minimum acceptable speed on most freeways is 85 mph. On the 105 or 110, your speed is expected to match the highway number. Anything less is considered “Wussy.” 4. Forget the traffic rules you learned elsewhere. L A has its own version of traffic rules. For example, cars/trucks with the loudest muffler go first at a four-way stop; the trucks with the biggest tires go second. However, in Malibu, SUV-driving, cellphone-talking moms ALWAYS have the right of way. 5. If you actually stop at a yellow light, you will be rear ended, cussed out, and possibly shot. 6. Never honk at anyone. Ever. Seriously. It’s another offense that can get you shot. 7. Road construction is permanent and continuous in all of L A and Orange counties. Detour barrels are moved around for your entertainment pleasure during the middle of the night to make the next day’s driving a bit more exciting. 8. Watch carefully for road hazards such as drunks, skunks, dogs, cats, barrels, cones, celebs, rubber-neckers, shredded tires,cell-phoners, deer and other road kill, and the coyotes feeding on any of these items. 9. Mapquest does not work here — none of the roads are where they say they are or go where they say they do and all the freeway off and on ramps are moved each night. 10. If someone actually has their turn signal on, wave them to the shoulder immediately to let them know it has been “accidentally activated.” 11. If you are in the left lane and only driving 70 in a 55-65mph zone, you are considered a road hazard and will be “flipped off” accordingly. If you return the flip, you’ll be shot. 12. Do not try to estimate travel time — just leave Monday afternoon for Tuesday appointments, by noon Thursday for Friday and right after church on Sunday for anything on Monday morning.
- In pharmacology, all drugs have two names, a trade name and a generic name. For example, the trade name of Tylenol has a generic name of acetaminophen. Aleve is also called naproxen. Amoxil is called amoxicillin and Advil is also called ibuprofen. The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced that it has settled on the generic name of mycoxafloppin. Also considered were mycoxafailin, mydixadrupin, mydixarizin, mydixadud, dixafix, and of course ibepokin.
- WASHINGTON, DC (AP) – Congress approved sweeping legislation, which provides new benefits for many Americans. The Americans With No Abilities Act (AWNAA), signed into law by President John Kerry shortly after its passage, is being hailed as a major victory by advocates of the millions of Americans who lack any real skills or ambition. “Roughly 50 percent of Americans do not possess the competence and drive necessary to carve out a meaningful role for themselves in society,” said Kerry, a longtime AWNAA supporter. “This is why many of them voted for me. We can no longer stand by and allow People of Inability to be ridiculed and passed over. With this legislation, employers will no longer be able to grant special favors to a small group of workers, simply because they do a better job, or have some idea of what they are doing”, said Kerry. President Kerry pointed to the success of the US Postal Service, which has a long-standing policy of providing opportunity without regard to performance. Approximately 80 percent of postal employees lack job skills, making this agency the single largest US employer of Persons of Inability. Private sector industries with good records of nondiscrimination against the Inept include retail sales (72%), the airline industry (68%),and home improvement “warehouse” stores (65%) President Kerry has also set an example, personally selecting hundreds of Nonabled people for top government positions, including many cabinet-level jobs. Under the Americans With No Abilities Act, more than 25 million “middle man” positions will be created, with important-sounding titles but little real responsibility, thus providing an illusory sense of purpose and performance. Mandatory non-performance-based raises and promotions will be given, to guarantee upward mobility for even the most unremarkable employees. The legislation provides substantial tax breaks to corporations which maintain a significant level of Persons of Inability in top positions, and gives a tax credit to small and medium businesses that agree to hire one clueless worker for every two talented hires. Finally, the AWNAA contains tough new measures to make it more difficult to discriminate against the Nonabled, banning discriminatory interview questions such as “Do you have any goals for the future?” or “Do you have any skills or experience which relate to this job?” and “Are you awake?” “As a Nonabled person, I can’t be expected to keep up with people who have something going for them,” said Mary Lou Gertz, who lost her position as a lug-nut twister at the GM plant in Flint, MI due to her lack of notable job skills. “This new law should really help people like me.” With the passage of this bill, Gertz and millions of other untalented citizens can finally see a light at the end of the tunnel. Said Kerry, “It is our duty as lawmakers to provide each and every American citizen, regardless of his or her adequacy, with some sort of space to take up in this great nation.”
- Dale Jarrett, Rusty Wallace and Robert Pressely found themselves in hell. They were a little confused at their present situation, and they were startled to see a door in the wall open, behind the door was perhaps the ugliest 1973 Pinto they had ever seen. It was multi-colored with plenty of rust and primer…dirty… dry-rotted interior..and you could smell it even over the Brimstone. The voice of the Devil was heard: “Dale, YOU HAVE SINNED!!! You are condemned to spend the rest of eternity in the drivers seat of this car!!!” And Jarrett was whisked through the door by a group of lesser demons to his torment. This understandably shook up the other two, and so they both jumped when the second door opened…and they saw an even MORE disgusting example of automaking gone wrong. It was a 1978 Gremlin it was over smashed in every which direction, covered in thick hand paint-brushed house paint and lots of “peace” symbols and hippie colors. It has a top speed of 34, the electrics don’t work, and the radio works but only plays the theme from “Alice” and you can’t turn it off. The voice of the Devil was heard: “Rusty, YOU HAVE SINNED!!! You are condemned to spend the rest of eternity in the drivers seat of this car!!!” And Rusty, like Jarrett before him, was whisked off. Robert Pressley, now alone, felt understandably anxious, and feared the worst…when the third door opened…. And as the door…inched…open…., he strained to see the figure of… a 1998 Dodge VIPER!!! Delighted, Robert, taking in the sight of this beautiful piece of Automaking Delight, Shiney and powerful this car is made to run like hell. Then he heard the voice of the Devilsaying:… “Viper, YOU HAVE SINNED….

- There are many stories related to the sinking of the “Titanic.” Some have just come to light due to the success of the recent movie. For example, most people don’t know that back in 1912 Hellman’s mayonnaise was manufactured in England. The “Titanic” was carrying 12,000 jars of the condiment scheduled for delivery in Vera Cruz, Mexico which was to be the next port of call for the great ship after New York City. The Mexican people were eagerly awaiting delivery and were disconsolate at the loss. So much so that they declared a national day of mourning which they still observe today. It is known, of course, as… Sinko de Mayo.
- Two rednecks met in a bar and decided that they weren’t going anywhere in life so thought they should go to college to get ahead. They hop in a pickup and drive to the nearest college. While the second one waits out in the hall, the first goes in to one of the rooms and finds a professor who advises him to take Math, History, and Logic. ‘What’s Logic?’ asked the first redneck. The professor replied, ‘Let me give you an example: Do you own a weedeater?’ ‘I sure do,’ grinned the redneck. ‘Then I can assume, using logic, that you have a yard,’ replied the professor. ‘That’s real good,’ the redneck responded in awe. The professor continued: ‘Logic will also tell me that since you have a yard, you also have a house.’ Impressed, the redneck shouts ‘AMAZIN’!’ ‘And since you own a house, logic dictates that you have a wife.’ ‘Betty Mae… this is incredible!’ (The redneck is catching on.) Finally, since you have a wife, logically I can assume that you are heterosexual,’ says the professor. ‘You’re absolutely right! Why that’s the most fascinatin’ thing I ever heard of. I cain’t wait to take this here logic class.’ The first redneck, grinning ear to ear with pride at the new world opening up to him, walked back into the hallway where his friend is waiting. ‘So what classes are ya takin’?’ The friend asked. ‘Math, History, and Logic,’ replies the first redneck. ‘What in tarnation is Logic?’ asked his new friend. ‘Let me give you an example. - There’s an Irishman, a Jew, and a homosexual standing at a bar. What a fine example of an integrated community.
- John and Jill were about to go into his apartment and before he could open his door, Jill said, “Wait a minute, I can tell how a man makes love by how he unlocks his door.” John says, “Well, give me some examples.” Jill proceeds to tell him, “Well, the first way is, if a guy shoves his key in the lock, and opens the door hard, then that means he is a rough lover and that isn’t for me. “The second way is if a man fumbles around and can’t seem to find the hole, then that means he is inexperienced and that isn’t for me either.” Then Jill said, “Honey, how do you unlock your door?” John proceeds to say, “Well, first before I do anything else…….. I lick the lock.”
- Find an attractive prisoner of war, bring her home, shave her head, trim her nails, and give her new clothes. Then she’s yours. (Deuteronomy 21:11-13) Find a prostitute and marry her. (Hosea 1:1-3) Find a man with seven daughters, and impress him by watering his flock. (Moses–Exodus 2:16-21) Purchase a piece of property, and get a woman as part of the deal. (Jacob–Genesis 29:15-30) Cut 200 foreskins off of your future father-in-law’s enemies and get his daughter for a wife. (David–1 Samuel 18:27) Even if no one is out there, just wander around a bit and you’ll definitely find someone. (It’s all relative, of course.) (Cain–Genesis 4:16-17) Become the emperor of a huge nation and hold a beauty contest. (Xerxes or Ahasuerus–Esther 2:3-4) When you see someone you like, go home and tell your parents, “I have seen a . woman; now get her for me.” If your parents question your decision, simply say, “Get her for me. She’s the one for me.” (Samson– Judges 14:1-3) Kill any husband and take HIS wife (Prepare to lose four sons, though). (David–2 Samuel 11) Wait for your brother to die. Take his widow. - A newlywed couple returned to their apartment after being on their honeymoon. “Care to go upstairs and do it?” the husband asked. “Shh!” said the bride “All the neighbors will know what we’re about to do. These walls are paper thin. In the future, we’ll have to ask each other in code. For example, how about asking, ‘Have you left the washing machine door open’ instead?” So, the following night, the husband asks, “I don’t suppose you left the washing machine door open, did you?” “No, I definitely shut it,” replied the wife who rolled over and fell asleep. When she woke up however, she was feeling a little frisky herself and she nudged her husband and said, “I think I did leave the washing machine door open after all. Would you like to do some washing?” “No, thanks,” said the husband. “It was only a small load so I did it by hand.”
- You may not know that many nonliving things have a gender. For example… 1) Ziploc Bags- They are Male, because they hold everything in, but you can see right through them. 2) Copiers- They are Female, because once turned off, it takes a while to warm them up again. It’s an effective reproductive device if the right buttons are pushed, but can wreak havoc if the wrong buttons are pushed. 3) Tire- Male, because it goes bald and it’s often over-inflated. 4) Hot Air Balloon- Male, because, to get it to go anywhere, you have to light a fire under it, and of course, there’s the hot air part. 5) Sponges- Female, because they’re soft, squeezable and retain water. 6) Web Page- Female, because it’s always getting hit on. 7) Subway- Male, because it uses the same old lines to pick people up. 8) Hourglass- Female, because over time, the weight shifts to the bottom. 9) Hammer- Male, because it hasn’t changed much over the last 5,000 years, but it’s handy to have around. 10) Remote Control- Female…… Ha! You thought it’d be male. But consider this-it gives a man pleasure, he’d be lost without it, and while he doesn’t always know the right buttons to push, he keeps trying.
- Managing your weight around the Christmas holidays just requires a little planning…For example, I took the batteries out of my weighing scales yesterday!
- The definition of irony; Not knowing the difference between a definition, and an example.
- Punctuation can really change a sentence. For example, “Let’s eat kids” becomes “Let’s eat punctuation”.
- Shirley Temple, a wonderful example that making sex tapes, twerking, and going to re-hab are NOT necessary to make it in Hollywood. Classy is ALWAYS in style. RIP Little Princess.
- I’m not totally useless… I can be used as a bad example.
- You know, Microsoft, if you had called it Bang instead of Bing, you’d have destroyed Google. Example: I just Banged Catherine Zeta Jones.
- A woman’s shoes say a lot about her feelings believe it or not. For example, if they’re behind her ears, she likes you.
- Sometimes, by holding on too tight, you end up losing what you were trying so hard to save. Soap, for example.
- You never realize what you have till its gone… Toilet paper is a good example.
- Exercising can add years to your life. For example I jogged 4 miles today and now I feel like I’m 73.
- A new study says Facebook users can be affected by the mood of their friends. For example, if your friend is depressed on Facebook, you’ll be depressed. And if they’re really happy on Facebook, you’ll be even more depressed.
- I was rejected at this job interview that I had. Apparently, “gang rape” is not a suitable example to prove that you are good at working in teams.
- the refrigerator is a clear example that what matters is whats inside
- Just because something is meant for kids doesn’t mean it won’t be amusing for adults. Boobs are a great example.
- Not all construction work is equally enjoyable. For example, enlarging a drilled hole is boring, but fastening pieces of metal together is riveting.
